Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist | B.A., R.C.H.
In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Psychology. I then went on to get a Diploma in “Addictions and Community Service Work” While studying, I discovered hypnosis and was certified in 2007 as a Consulting Hypnotist through the National Guild of Hypnosis. I then went on to be certified as a Registered Hypnotherapist through the Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists (ARCH) in 2008. Having gone through additional training through ARCH in 2015, I am now a Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist. I have also received certification in Pediatric Hypnotherapy and Sports Performance Enhancement Hypnotherapy.
At this point in time, the practice of hypnotherapy is unregulated in Canada, which means anyone can call themselves a hypnotist or hypnotherapist without any training. When choosing a hypnotherapist, it is important to consider their formal training (do they have a degree in Psychology/Social Work etc, or a degree in Computer Science?). Ask them about their training in hypnosis/hypnotherapy. And finally, it is extremely important that you feel comfortable with your hypnotherapist, so that you can relax and enjoy your experience.
